Can we get out yet??
We are getting this question regularly so I wanted to give an update on our website! The short answer is no. However, if a person is careful and takes the time to check the ice as you go, you can find good ice to get out and wet a line or two. With that being said, we are a ways from opening our access. The snow we have been getting is adding insulation that will slow down ice production. The winds today have helped to clear the main lake of snow but have also created drifts that will cause very inconsistent ice production. As of Monday, I found anywhere from 1.5″ to 4.5″ of ice in the initial area that we fish. There were pockets of significantly less ice just off the 4.5″ ice. This causes quite a bit of concern for safety. Hopefully these areas will catch up soon. We are not plowing any of our roads at this time. As soon as ice thickness allows, we will get the side by sides on the ice to start our roads. Make sure to follow our Facebook Page for all of our ice updates. We will start our Facebook live updates later this week or next week! We are looking forward to seeing everyone on the ice!! Thank you!
